Action Plan

Why?

Having some sort of plan in place is part of taking back control of your life and a first step towards feeling calmer and thinking more optimistically about the future.

It's important to make time to plan ahead and have clear goals to positively prepare your mind and body for pregnancy.

What you can do

  • Make a simple plan with your partner that you are both happy with and discuss this with your doctor if you wish

  • Set achievable goals

  • Start with small steps in the right direction

Ideas for a six month plan

For the first three months

  • Make improvements to your diet and aim to exercise more

  • Look at any positive changes your and your partner can make to improve your quality of life

  • Do research on miscarriage and fertility - knowledge is power

  • Try different relaxation techniques including our Coping with Miscarriage download or CD.

After three months

  • Try to conceive again and see what happens

  • Enlist the support of your doctor

  • Have a course of acupuncture/reflexology for extra support

  • Practice relaxation and visualise a successful pregnancy

After six months

  • Investigate tests and treatments which are available

  • Look at your work/life balance

Obviously these are just ideas to get you started. You must do what feels right for you.
