Our green policy
Mind Body Baby is a responsible, ethical enterprise which promotes positive change for people and the environment.
As our business grows, we want to minimize its impact on the Earth's climate. We can't single-handedly save the planet. But we can do our bit. Right now carbon offsetting is the "in thing" and gives people a nice warm feeling. But we believe it is better to first reduce what we use as much as we can then start planting the trees to off-set what's left. So we are looking at all our operations - from office services to production and delivery - and where and how we can use less.
Rather than give you a fatuous "eco policy" boldly stating what we want to do (replant the rainforests etc), here's what we are actually doing now:
Already we have reduced our carbon footprint by offering our products by digital download and using recyclable packaging. And we actively encourage our customers to re-use our packing materials (by giving them nice big labels to re-use our jiffy bags).
In our offices we use green energy. Our supplier gets it from wind, wave and hydro-electric resources. It's more expensive but it's worth it. We are energy efficient and use environmentally friendly procurement methods. We recycle and re-use all we can.
We're not perfect but we are challenging ourselves to reduce our footprint even more and are actively monitoring progress.
There's a long way to go. But we're getting there.
